Let’s Get Yarny
I can spin more than one kind of yarn! Enter today to win a skein of Mountain Colors yarn with an accompanying pattern.
For today’s fun question, have you ever taken a class or tried a hobby that you weren’t very good at, even though you enjoyed it?
My great-grandmother crocheted me a pink afghan when I was a girl (pictured above), so from an early age, I wanted to learn to crochet. I took a class when I was about 9. I did okay as long as I was in class, but as soon as I was home, I had no idea what I was doing.
I took another crochet class in high school. The teacher was flabbergasted at how I turned a square dishcloth into a round one. She took it home to rework it into a round pattern for me and brought it back next week. I promptly turned it back into a square, and she gave up on me.
I didn’t actually learn to crochet until I had a book with very simple but specific illustrations. Now it’s one of my favorite pastimes.

P.S. I watched football while I crocheted it. 😉

I love to crochet and spin yarn! I’m currently working on a pattern for knee protection while I’m doing aerial hoop.
Oh neat! I love patterns like that. My most recent finished projects are a pair of Doctor Who inspired fingerless gloves (Tom Baker) and a doll afghan for a gift.
