I’m going to attempt just starting with chapter one (as in, hack the prologue and dive in with chapter one with revision rather than out and out rewriting).
The problem with doing so many drafts of the same novel is that I can’t always remember what I’ve cut out and what I’ve left in. Somewhere, I mention the declaration of war broadcast–but if I scrap the prologue (which I cleverly didn’t label “Prologue”), the reader no longer sees that declaration of war broadcast. Which is maybe okay ‘cause it was kind of violent.
Anyway, opening chapter number 24, commence!
