NaNoWriMo
Ever since I first found out about NaNoWriMo, I have wanted to try it. Something always gets in the way, mostly school. Then I was so busy on my current NIP that I didn’t want to take a break long enough, or I was working full time retail and dead exhausted.
This year, I thought for sure I would do it! I’m at a good pausing point with my NIP, and I could use the time to write something fun. However, I was so inspired after the conference (actually, I was just excited to get to a part of the story I hadn’t rewritten fifty bagillion times) that I went into a three week writing frenzy. The result?
103 7/8 handwritten notebook pages. O_O You can imagine how sore my right arm is. I actually wrote about three pages with my left hand and had to take a break for a day. By the way, that approximates to 28,600 words. Which averages out to 9 1/2 pages or 2,615 words a day. I know that’s not 50,000 words (but remember, I did only three weeks, not four 😉 ), but it’s still a whole awful lot. I feel pretty accomplished.
It’s very satisfying to know that, if I can write about 10 pages a day, 5 days a week, I could make it to 50,000 words. Now that I know, I’m not sure I need to do NaNoWriMo.
I may just keep working on this NIP.
Happy Writing!
